The advantages of installing GreenSQL on the Application server are:

Enforcement of the security policies before queries leave the Application server.
Performance acceleration - Achieved by the GreenSQL Caching module.
Protection of the Database server's Operating System by preventing direct access to the Database management system.

Note: When installing GreenSQL on the application server, it is also recommended to install another instance of GreenSQL on a dedicated server to prevent access from the remote application with the GreenSQL to the Database.
